My Testimony

I had my Bible 20 years before I read it. However, certain years ago I read it for the first time. I had just truly believed in Jesus Christ: that He is the Son of God Who died for my sins and was resurrected and is returning soon to establish His Kingdom on the earth.

Because the Son of God died for our sins and was resurrected, everyone who is in their grave will be resurrected and stand before Him in the judgement. I imagine that this either means everything to us or nothing at all.

Certainly on the day of judgement, standing before His throne, it will mean everything to everyone. But the judgement will be set for each soul, and nothing will change the decree. So while there is breath in our body, the Word of God compels: “today is the day of salvation; now is the acceptable time.”

For me, for most of my life, the gospel meant nothing though I grew up attending church. If the gospel was preached (I do not recall if it was), I probably did not have ears to hear or a heart to understand; a heart that truly desired the Lord.

My desire, my focus, was on the temporal things of a fallen world that is at enmity with God. Therefore every facet of my being was utterly sinful for only in Jesus is their righteousness and truth and redemption by which we are reconciled to God by faith.

It was only the grace of God that kept me from dying in the multitude of my sin in which there would be no hope, no covering, only judgment and eternal damnation.
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”
By the grace of God, at the age of 42, I repented, put my faith in Jesus and was baptized and the Lord truly gave me a new heart that lives for Him and hungers for His righteousness and the things of His eternal Kingdom; He gave me His Spirit.

John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Since I called on the name of the Lord, he has been patiently growing me in the knowledge of Him, in the things of His Kingdom, showing Himself ever Faithful, ever True… a Love like no other.

God is no respecter of persons. He will do the same for anyone who comes to Him. So Jesus bids us to Come to Him.
